Places to visit in Sonamarg include Jajila Pass, Thajiwas Glacier, Gangabal Lake, Gadsar Lake, Visanta Lake, Sastar Lake. But apart from these, the beauty of Dudhpatri, Kokarnag, Daksum or Synthetop is more captivating. Aharbal Falls is also a unique destination. It is impossible to perceive the form of the Himalayas without taking the road to Charar-e-Sharif in Budgam district. Going further up from there, you can see Dudhganga. Ular Lake is the largest freshwater lake in South Asia to the north. Another small lake in Ganderbal is called Manasbal.

Gulmarg:

Gulmarg is famous for its snow all year round. Which is located about 52 km from Srinagar. It takes all day to go and come back. This means it takes time from 8 am to 5 pm. A car from Srinagar to Gulmarg will cost Rs 2,000. There are only two-step cars or ropeways. If you go from November to April, you can see the snow as soon as you take a step, the rent of which is 650 rupees. And if you go to the rest of the time, if you go to the second step, the ice will match and the rent will be 900 rupees more.

History of Gulmarg:

Gulmarg is a small hill station in Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir. If you go to this hill station, which is 52 km away from Srinagar, the capital of Kashmir and at an altitude of 8,625 feet, you will have to decide whether the place is Gulmarg or an unknown city covered with snow in Switzerland. Looking at its history, it can be seen that Gulmarg was the favorite holiday destination of King Yusuf Shah Chak and Emperor Jahangir. The previous name of this iceberg was 'Gaurimarg'. The mountain was named after the wife of the Hindu god Shiva. But in the evolution of time that name became Gulmarg at one time.

How to get to Kashmir: -

If you want to go to Kashmir, first you have to take an international flight from Dhaka to Delhi Indira Gandhi International Airport. Or from Dhaka to Calcutta. From there you can take a domestic flight to Jammu or Srinagar Airport. There are no direct flights from Kolkata to Srinagar. So, you have to go to Delhi. However, if Dhaka-Kolkata-Delhi-Srinagar are dismantled in this way, the cost is comparatively less. In addition, it is possible to travel by air at a lower cost if you can book a ticket at least a month in advance. You can go by bus or train from Kolkata or Delhi. The Kolkata train can drop you off at Jammu in 41-45 hours. You can fly to Srinagar in just 25 minutes from Jammu.

You can go to Kolkata from Dhaka by Greenline, Sohag or Shyamoli AC bus. There is another way to reduce costs. That is, go to the border by domestic bus. Cross the border and reach Kolkata by local bus or train from India. For example, if you want to cross the Haridaspur (Benapole-Petrapole) border, first take a bus from Satkhira to the Navaran junction. It will cost only 20 rupees to reach Benapole by autorickshaw from Navaran. After crossing the border between the two countries, another autorickshaw will take 20 rupees to Bangaon railway station. Trains from Bangaon to Kolkata are available almost every hour. Tickets will be 20-30 rupees.
